Fissure #1

Rescued from an old log pile, the old Alder tree lives on in this modern art sculpture. A cross-section of the tree reveals the natural shape and age of the tree. Cracks that formed during its life and decay have been highlighted with a beautiful deep metallic blue resin.


If you look closely you may see the face of an old lady with a knobbly nose and chin!


​Mounted on a charred and oiled, square oak plinth, Fissure#1 stands approximately 53cm tall and 22cm wide.
