How to buy Live Edge Furniture for Your Space
We occasionally have coffee tables available off the shelf but most of our work is produced to order only. We find this works best as customers can choose the wood they like, the size they need and the style they prefer. We offer two menu options for buying furniture from us;
- Design Your Own ("DYO") - a package product created for people who want a live edge wood slab table or desk and would like some control and choice over how it looks at a cost that suits their budget. Check out the DYO Furniture page and get started.
- Custom Build - Our custom build menu is essentially a blank sheet of paper giving you complete freedom and control over every aspect of your furniture design. If you need this flexibility then head over to our Custom Furniture page.
If you want furniture that's as individual and unique as you are, then live edge wood represents great value for money.
What does Live, Waney or Natural Edge boards really mean?
They are wood boards that retain the living or natural edge shape of the tree they were cut from. The living edge of the tree is formed by the outer growth rings which can change shape over the tree's life, giving the wood its's unique appearance and character.
Character describes features on the wood surface that add interest and texture such as figured wood grain, burrs and holes that capture the nature and history of the tree.
Almost all wooden furniture that you find in big furniture stores uses straight edged boards or a wood veneer over chipboard and MDF.
